Eric Johnson’s life path
Eric Johnson was born on October 10, 1975 in Dallas. The future politician has spent his entire life in this city. He attended Dallas Independent School District before receiving a scholarship at Greenhill School from the West Dallas Boys & Girls Club.
Johnson chose to continue his education in 1994 and enrolled in a higher education institution. After entering Harvard University, the young man quickly became popular among new people. Already in his second year, he was welcomed into Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and served as president of the Harvard Black Students Association. Eric Johnson received several scholarships from Harvard College in recognition of his social activism, including the John Lord O’Brian and Stride Rite scholarships.
Already in his senior year, Johnson developed an interest in politics. In the summer before graduating from college, he attended the Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, as part of a public policy and international relations scholarship program. It was then that he began to earn extra money, taking on the position of the head of one of the summer educational programs for youth.
After graduating with honors from Harvard College, Eric returned to Dallas. His first official position was as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. However, the man felt that this was not his calling.
On April 20, 2010, Eric Johnson was sworn into the Texas House of Representatives. Since then, his long-term career as a successful politician began.
2019 Dallas mayoral election
Due to term restrictions, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, who had held the position since 2011, was no longer eligible to run for it. Scott Griggs and Eric Johnson were the leading contenders for his position. The second candidate was able to garner greater support because he was able to emphasize his advantages effectively.
During his election campaign, Eric Johnson stated that he had worked with people with radically different views.
